    Love all my Vortex products ! Up to 90 % of products are made in China and shipped in, but were designed in the USA and have a made in the USA label, and no one stops to read the fine print ! Lol Some of them parts and products you have on your firearms today are not 100% American made ! $5. to make in China over $20. to make in the UsA and people ask why China is buying up the United States.

    Can we get a reticle eye piece? Vortex would DOMINATE the market with a budget spotting scope with something like that. I personally have a Diamond back spotting scope.

    You honestly don't know how excited I am. I've needed a spotting scope for a long time now a good one. I have that $20 barska one for the last like 10 years now and I really need to upgrade but I couldn't spend 500 bucks on your used to be lowest grade one but I can spend $300 a little easier.

    Picked up at Cabelas initially very impressed, build quality is there. Put it back down after looking through the glass, the reticle was just not even close to being crisp. Very underwhelming, was expecting more. If it had a brighter reticle and the ability to change to just a dot……I would have bought one. Actually I am wondering why it is so big and clunky, the latest meprolight sight is half the length of this. So wanted to like this optic, but it just doesn’t work. I am disappointed that so many UA-camrs are pumping this product up. Really does cause me to question their credibility. I feel that the potential for this to be a great sight is there but it just sort of flops. Viewing area is great, build quality is awesome, layout of controls are great, battery compartment accessibility is very good and the materials it is made of is excellent. Just the washed out reticle and size at this price point doesn’t work for me. Keep in mind this is just my opinion based off of handling it in store not actually using it. I would recommend if your ordering one online to go handle one prior to purchase. If vortex has an improved third gen version coming out please feel free to send me a link to a video on it.

    the optic mount is 2.05" not 2.26" reason is to work with thermals by adding a 1/2" riser.

    • @gob7116
      @gob7116 3 дні тому

      +1, was gonna say the same thing. No 2.26 lpvo mounts out yet, and I’m not doubting that the trend will get to that height, but not at this specific mount. Also find it interesting to have a mount that costs more than the glass it holds.

    I would love to hear a pro like Jerry explain why an 8 MOA dot over something finer like a 2 or 3. Is it just easier to see? Doesn't it cover a lot of the target? Maybe it's all relative when iron sights cover half the target anyway 😂

    • @MiseryDuke69
      @MiseryDuke69 8 днів тому

      You pretty much answered it. It's easier to see and faster to pick up. 8 moa is only covering 4 inches at 50 yards on a target it's not so big that you can't see what you're aiming at so for self defense and most shooting matches it's nothing but a positive in 99% of cases
